View Full Version : October 23rd C7performance Fall tour -- Cancelled

09-12-2005, 06:42 PM
The most anticipated event is finally here! C7performance is putting on its annual fall tour event. This will be our 4th year in a row running this event with the numbers nearly doubling ever year!!
First year: http://media.c7performance.com/showimg.php?file=/Signature/2002/FallTour/107-0756_IMG.JPG
Second year: http://media.c7performance.com/showimg.php?file=/Signature/2003/FallTour/95777355dCDHkw_ph.jpg
Third year: http://media.c7performance.com/showimg.php?file=/Signature/2004/FallTour/DSCN0010x.jpg
Incase you are new to the forums and haven't heard of this event, it is our annual event where we try and unite all automotive enthusiasts together to go for a cruise through the country and take in the sights to come to a final destination where we can park and enjoy the fall colours and each others ride, all cars are welcome from completely stock to completely wild and crazy.
http://forums.c7performance.com/data/2004FallTour.wmv
http://www.northarc.com/~synetic/video/2004falltour.wmv (http://www.northarc.com/%7Esynetic/video/2004falltour.wmv) (backup mirror) is a video of last years tour!
This year we will have MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Canada on site again, as well Tuned magazine will be there to cover the event and publish peoples clubs and rides that wish to be in the magazine.
We are asking that everyone who wants to attend go to http://www.c7pfalltour.dhwd.ca (http://www.c7pfalltour.dhwd.ca/) and sign up so we know how many people to expect (Last year we had a record 525 cars!). As well any club presidents or event coordinators e-mail brandon@c7performance.com to get information on the pre-run.
Please also feel free to e-mail, pm or post any questions!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It is with disappointment that we deliver this important message. This year's event has been cancelled.
In the business of 'getting the job done' , we have come across, and effectively managed a number of challenges to put together what many have come to expect as a fun, safe, and well organized event. With interest, and participation of clubs that span the province, and representation of cars from a variety of manufacturers C7 has been proud to play a role in helping to bring our communities closer.
After much careful deliberation of those elements within our control, and those external to our project management of this event, your executive management team has taken the difficult decision to forgo operating this years event.
We realize many of you will be dissapointed, and some new to the event and the community here at C7 will wonder what you missed. This event is the work of many years of building bridges among clubs, and putting an event that brings real people together sharing a passion of something they have in common - their cars. We take great pride in the fact that we have offered this event with organization focused on safety first, and most of all fun.
We understand there may be disappointment, but at this time we trust you will recognize our decision was reached after much consideration of important factors that are required to offer such an event. We are taking lessons learned from 2005 and building them into our model for future events.
At this time, we would like to welcome any parties or individuals interested in driving this year's designated route, to contact us. We would be pleased to offer route details for your own personal driving pleasure. We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize, and thank the many leaders that have assisted us in organizing this year's event
Wishing you all a safe, and happy year end.
Your C7 Executive Management Team

It's not realy.. With all the 'show' and 'compititions' of the summer months starting to fade, and the first snows of winter approaching it's a great chance to celebrate what this scene is all about.
A love of cars, and the artistry of modification.
And what better way is there of doing it, but getting together with a pile of freinds and going for a cruise?
Same 'dis.. Just with alot more freinds....

I know I asked a few days ago for some changes in the club sign up area and I have about 10 people + waiting for the updates to sign up. Wouldn't be a bad idea if there was a section somewhere for clubs not listed to post their club names so it can be updated to reflect so. :wtf: When you belong to a club and you have to sign up under "other" it hurts :stick: lol.

Since the finish is hockley valley,I may be able to just meet everyone there if I do decide to come, since it's just outside orangeville and less than a 30 minute drive for me. Saves me getting up stupid early, driving to the city just to drive back here again.
I'm leaning more towards the not coming side at the moment mostly due to time constraints with my personal schedule, and my car needs a buttload of work and I don't feel like working on it anymore with the season pretty much over.

Update Club Attendance Standings
Vital Motion - 33
SRTOC - 26
c7performance.com - 21
neoncanada - 20
UpNorthImports.com - 19
toronto civics club - 18
mitsubishicanada - 18
Id just like to point out the my club "UpNorthImports.com" is a newly founded automotive enthusiast club launched in May of this year and we are currently 5th on the list of most attending members! Also the 19 cars registered are actual club members..the total number of cars we are bringing should far exceed our registered number due to some offsite registrations being handled under "other" category! So yea look out Team Subaru and the Beamer crew who think they will be bringing the most people..looks like there will be a couple of heavily represented car clubs at this awesome event!!
On a side note, I have not been recieving emails in regards to the premeet or any other setup or registration info, we just has a meeting tontie and I am getting grilled for information..any help would be appreciated in regards to start times and locations since we are leaving from Barrie, Ont.
Thanks
-Jim

Yah come on Brandon! Those guys are coming all the way from Barrie and we are only coming from Peterborough and farther lol. :giggle:
Some are coming from Montreal and further!
I am glad to see upnorthimports increasing numbers. We too are new since May and even though I could go under C7Performance because I have been a C7 member for 2 years... I don't want to draw attention away from the Celica's to my Civic LMAO.
I don't require my club members to sign up or pay fees, just the way we decided to go. Many belong to other clubs and are signed up under other club names.
So our actual numbers are around 350 so far...

i sold the celica back in august for siiick price...one day, some guy came into my work and was like "wanna sell your car? i need a car for my daugher for her 17th birthday, she wants a boxter, and ur car looks close so enough" so i had been thinking about selling for like a week, and wasnt totally sure, but said yes, so i sold it and bough...a jeep YJ! it's soo fun!! and payments+insurance is actually LESS than my payments on my celica were...so it's good...saving some money finally...but yea, so i got a jeep...i LOVE it..and its standard, which is sooo fun
saving money on a gas guzzling jeep??? :P i know a guy with a Rubikon, definatley not cheap to run

You can expect Team Custom to Attend. Not sure the number for attendence, but we will make it out.
What is the route? Is there a map, meeting place, and final destination?
I heard you end in Hockley Valley, is this true? if so, thats wicked that is were "Team Custom" originates from.
See ya all on the 23rd, if not at Import Fest on the 22nd.

Don't worry guys I know its a disapointment however with we will take the challenges we've faced this year to ensure next year the event will happen and be bigger and better than ever.
No chance in getting more info, huh?
( I hope its nothing serious or anything. )
Logistics?
Popo? (doubt it)
Organization?
Hockley got hit by a major flood?
North of Brampton is now closed to outsiders? LOL!

It is definately sad that this great event is not taking place.
On the bright side many club sites I have visited seem to being doing their own Fall Tour instead. Doing the exact same route would not be a good idea in my opinion as there may be more to the cancellation that could cause problems for people attempting it?
But having them spread is cool, many people must have taken the day off work as well so why waste it.
I for sure will get out for an amazing drive in the Kawarthas instead.
And of course planning is already underway for next years Spring Poker Run in May.
Kawartha Car Enthusiasts will once again be putting it on in the Kawartha's and should you wish to be kept updated on this amazing one day event. Send me an email and updates will be sent out before the snow melts!
