This from the latest issue of Automobile Magazine:

The new model will continue the Back to Basics Philosophy-so far, all wheel drive is not in the cards. The reception to the current model's styling has been lukewarm,however, so Toyota's designers are investigating themes that are a 180 degree turn of those of the present car. US input, so critical in the styling of the current Celica, is rumoured to be of only secondary concern, to the product development team, a slap on the hands for the US studio. Release date is slated for late 2004 as a 2005 model.

yeah I think if they kept the car the same they might actually get more companies investing more aftermarket for the celica as more people will have them pushing up the demand :roll:

Well acutaly the 5th gen was a great model as well as the 6th although not as popular over in North america.

they should try and at least keep the engine the same .. that would be so nice .. if they did .. then people could continue to make aftermarket stuff for the 1zz and 2zz
