after the initial $19,000 rental fee, all car damage is not included... that could end up being one hell of an expensive echo if you have an accident.
But damn that would be fun.

Yea i know what you guys mean. You could probably buy one of these cars for 21K already race preped the expences would be with tires, entrance fees to races, transportation of the vehicle and all that stuff. So if your a good driver i think its a good deal.
However if i had the money i would proabably rather invest in a purchase rather then renting. :D

You guys are nuts! $19K is dirt cheap for what they are offering!
Here's what they offer:
Arrive and Drive (8 races): $19000
-include:
-pre-race prep
-1 week end of testing (pre-season)
-8 pre-race test days)
-race day prep
-tires and consumables
-inscriptions to the 2006 championship
-transport
-coaching
It's arrive and drive, you don't have to ever worry about anything. Just show up and race.
pre-race prep and race day prep - that would be a team of mechanics that do all the prep work for you, I've never priced that out, but I know it's ALOT of $$$ shops can charge up to $90/hour/mechanic for race prep, and it we're talking about alot of hours
1 weekend of testing - booking a race track for a weekend (depending on the track) is probably around $2000
8 test days - probably $1000 each
tires, consumables(eg gas) - The spec tire for the series is a Pirelli, they aren't cheap, probably $500 worth of tires per race, the Echo's are good on gas, but it's still another cost
Series entry fee is included, again I don't know, but I"m sure it's at least a few hundred
Transport - they get the car to the track for you, I can speak from experience there, that's at least a $500-$1000 value per race
Coaching - priceless
If you bought your own car, it would be $21K, and all that other stuff on top you'd be looking at around $40K - $50K. And if you buy your own car, you still have to pay for your own damages, that cost is there either way.
So with the rental, you're not really paying for the car at all, just for all the awesome perks.
