Toyota to boost output in Britain,*France

NAGOYA — Toyota Motor Corp said Tuesday it will boost annual production capacity in Britain and France in the second quarter of 2004 by a total of around 105,000 units in response to growing sales of its vehicles in the European market.
Annual output capacity in Britain will increase by 50,000 to around 270,000 units for the Corolla and the Avensis, Toyota's strategic model in Europe, while capacity in France will rise from 184,000 to 240,000 for the Yaris subcompact, known as Vitz in Japan. (Kyodo News)
