So I drove the spyder upto the asa Namao event, big old military airport, lots of place to run. The week before I went up there I relocated my fuel pump and changed out my fuel filters (I was having a fuel heating problem). Anyhow I didn't really get to test the car after the changes and I didn't think that the changes would really have any affect on engine performance since the fuel pressure regulator should take care of any flow difference from the pump. Anyhow the car drove fine on the street on the way up, but I wasn't getting on the gas hard or hitting any boost. However I go to do my first run and I have huge bogging issues, I'm like wtf, did I foul my spark plugs? After my first 2 runs there was a little break so I changed spark plugs and took it for a little cruise and it was still bogging once it started building boost. So I hooked up the laptop and logged the info, it turned out I was down in the 8:1 and 9:1 a/f ratio. Just the week before I was doing some tuning and I had a very nice 12:1 a/f ratio all threw boost and 14.7:1 a/f ratio in vacume. Anyhow, I'm not sure what caused the problem I'm still looking into it, but Namao is 1,200 ft lower in altitude then Calgary, however I have a tough time seeing that being the problem.

For my last 2 runs, I took a bunch of fuel out of the map, the car ran much better, but it was still bogging bad and the power was unpradictable. I was add gass the power would sometimes come on sometimes not and sometimes be delayed a lot and then hit had. Anyhow, I need to fix this problem so I can drive the car smoother, this irratic power on and off is not good for lap times.

Anyhow even with my engine problems I set ftd, I'm disappointed with my time because I know I could have gone a lot faster but I guess that will be for the next event.

Run 1 (wmv - windows media player 12mb) (http://www.5di.ca/Sept9Run1.wmv) 57.7 second run, I go out planning to take the run easy, new slicks on the car and they are cold. I'm shocked and suprised when the car boggs all the time, I'm not sure what to do about it.

Run 2 (wmv - windows media player 12mb) (http://www.5di.ca/Sept9Run2.wmv) 58.9 second run, Engine's bogging a lot (more then the first run), I try to go faster, but I can't get any more power. So I start short shifting, it seems if I stay under 3500-4000 rpm I can get some power, although it's nothing compaired to what I should be getting.

Run 3 (wmv - windows media player 11mb) (http://www.5di.ca/Sept9Run3.wmv) 55.7 second run, Took tons of fuel out of the ecu for this run, car is still bogging but is running better, car is now running in the 9:1 a/f range most of the time. Power will come on and then bogg, then after bogging the power hits hard when it comes on again, I can't drive the car smooth with the power kicking in and out like this.

Run 4 (wmv - windows media player 9mb) (http://www.5di.ca/Sept9Run4.wmv) 55.0 second run, Took even more fuel out for this run, car is still bogging but is running better, car is now running in the 9.5:1 a/f range most of the time, camera ran out of memory right before the end so the last bit is missing.

After everything was over and I changed the tires I noticed I had the tires way to inflated, I need to drop my tire pressures. I think that if the engine was running well and I could have started to look at my tires/shocks/suspension I would have been able to put in a time atleast 2 seconds quicker.

Congrats War! Even if your car isn't running like it should, it seems plenny fast.

The guys over there must be scratching their head when they see your results even with your bogging problems.

Just imagine without any bogging and a tuned suspention! This thing will fly!

I can't check the vid at work but I'll make sure to do it tonight!

Keep it up and keep us posted buddy!
