It was mentioned today at the regional Autocross event that an event in Milton is being put together to cater to the import/tuner/street racing crowd. The Town of Milton, in conjunction with the the MTO are organizing an event at the Milton GO Station. The purpose is to get racing off the streets, and onto the track where it belongs. I understand there may also be a show n shine component as well.
The format will be that experienced competitors will get 3 runs. Each run they will take a newbie along for a ride. Then, the newbies get a crack at it. An experienced competitor will ride with the newbies on 2 runs to provide instruction and suggestions. If the newbie is deemed to be safe enough, they get to do the final run on their own.
This would be a GREAT way for someone to give this whole autocross a thing a try in a safe and fun way, without the stress of being involved in a full-blown event. If you have ever thought you might want to try this, this is your opportunity.
Details will be posted shortly, but I believe they are looking at a date in late October.
