General Musings - Toyota Supra

There has been a fair deal of discussion over the last little while concerning the 'style' of the new Toyota Supra..

I say to HELL with style.. I want to know what sort of power this beast is going to be putting out.. (not that I'll be able to aford it anyway)

What do you think Toyota is going to do with the engine? Any rumours?
I think the most logical choice is to use the v8 iForce Tacoma powerplant. The motor is seriously nutored in the 'truck' applicaiton. But I beleve that there are a few teams that are sucessfuly burning up the drag strip with it, so it can produce performance power.

what I hear from the rumors is a couple things. I heard the car isn't coming out till at LEAST 2005. Second from what I heard the idea (I don't think you could call it a plan yet) is that the base model is going to come with a V6 and the higher end model with come with the tacoma's V8, most likely tuned a lot more, high flow everything nice gear ratio's to get ride of the truck feeling.

Personally I think either would be good. The current/old supra uses a V6 and obviously pushes more than enough power. A V8 would be good just means more money to forged everything though :lol:

One thing I did hear is that its not going to be a turbo'd car.
