Mark and I have some talking to do first, I will call him tomorrow. The run is on as always but not sure if we are doing gravel as mentioned.

LOL! Yes.. The Poker Run IS on this year, and although it's far easier to plot an exciting route with Gravel roads ( :devil: ) we want to make this as accessible for folks as possible. As such our intent is to run it as other years (ie 80%+ Tarmac and perhaps a little gravel for fun).

Normally we hold the run in that hallowed weekend betwixt Mother's Day and May 24, but by a twist of fate we have no such break. As such we're tentatively planning for the FIRST Weekend in June.

its usually a couple hundred clicks. We should have some news this weekend. There was a change in a couple of the logistics so there was a bit of delay however everything is looking good :D

I fear too many people will get the wrong idea... please remind people this is a navigational "rally" only so far as it is a nice drive without full throttle racing. As much as I'd love to watch a live civic rendition of the Gumball 3000, I'd like the police to let us hold the event again next year as well.

Things are a little hairy out there right now. The motorsports folks are freaking out with regards to the new 'Streetracing' legislation. I know that they even cancled ALL of the DriveX Nav rallies for 2006-2007 in Ontario just to insure a good profile..

Hell the President of Rally Sport Ontario even felt compeled to post on the Toronto Subaru Club re: some unsantioned activities that were planned..

I think Brando's got a revised event up his sleve, but I'm not sure we can do this event in the same scale as previous years.

If any of you (particularly your 'more local to Peterborough') folks are interested in 'taking off the training wheels' and trying out a 'real' Nav Rally, there's one happening in the same Havelock area as last year put on the Peterborough Motor Sports Club.

A bit off topic, but not quite... I was wondering if anyone could PM me or post a link to the actual "street-racing" laws. I am having trouble remembering what is actual law and what is "on the table."

As for the Poker run it will be run however we will be running it a little later than normal (normally we run it when the weather start warming up and spring is starting), I think now it'll be a late spring/early summer.

With all the up-roar of media and panic that's going on we just want to make sure that we cross all the T's and dot all the I's to ensure we run a safe event that won't be interrupted by any law enforcement agency.

As well for anyone new to this event or this type of event this isn't a Gumball or Bullrun. Those events are run with the goal of fastest person wins. This is more like a TDS (time/distance/speed) Rally where the route is done and to "win" you have to complete the corse based on following the road limits with built in time to complete puzzles and rest stops for checkpoints . As Anomili said its more of a cruise with some puzzles and fun along the way (cars don't even leave the start at the same time).

Bran's right..More of a Nav Rally/Timed Rally. You sped, or you came to a check point first didn't always mean your winning...Heck I remember a certian Church in our run, and I thought we were last b/c we left last..and we were pulling good time!!! so..not always necessarily first there first place!! of course that wouldn't be in John's case...lmao!!!!(last year's winner)

There were alot of fun games in it as well, incl A lord of the rings Cd..I should actually rip parts of the cd and post on here for others to hear...as an example of the fun we went through....LMAO!!!!!f from Sterling to Havelock!!!

Anyways..C7. ALWAYS.. puts out a good Fun filled Day and there's no problem with local law enforcement...unless you make it a problem...then I'd advise not even showing up and spoiling it for the rest of the day..its all very fun when you abide by the rules!!!!

Just so some people do not get confused. I am taking a break this year from the Poker Run. Unfortunately too many other things are taking precedence right now. As sad as that makes me, it also makes me quite happy. What a crying shame that this year I have a Lancer Ralliart and won't be driving the Poker Run let alone having the joy of planning parts of it.

None the less this year brings about many changes in my life which are all good and you can look forward to a few announcements in the near future.

I love C7, the team work we all put into making this the best platform for car enthusiasts is present, PrEsEnT... PRESENT!

It will be an honour to be a part of future event planning and I thank C7 for all it has taught me.

Just a short break for me but I WILL be around.

Local KCE events in Peterborough are still a go for this season.

Hey all, I know you guys are wondering when the Poker Run is happening. This year it's happening in July. I've got a few ideas that could put some twists to this poker run but we'll see 8)

Now I'm not entirely shure if Brandon or L are doing anything differently ( like even having IT in Peterborough..b/c Now Subterfuge and Darryl are on a sabbatical, I thought that it wouldn't be in Peterpatch this year even...but there are always "twists" to this event.

As for Smeagol,true it was funny, but We had to just take the text route, and took a few demerit points for it...more visually stimuated than auditory!

As for the threeeeeee-way tie, yes that it was and we made it in b/c of the best time in one leg...booya call it miraculous or something, I mean this was my territory, I just should of known better...lol

I'm just letting the two of you know, not b/c of lack or participation or information on what is happening atm, but myself and a lack of co driver help...

this year, at least for me, will be a bust.


Car is going in for repairs and what not, and money issues....


so we will take a break..and see what happens, this time around.
