Poker Run 2009 **date change**

Hey all,

So I know many from C7 and other clubs have been asking whether the Poker Run will be happening this year, and I am happy to say it is on!! :D

We are just in the initial stages but wanted to let you know so that you can get your rides and participants/navigators picked out.

So book this date in your calendars and remember there are only a limited number of spots for this event so it will be on a first come, first served basis.

hey lyla want to explain what the poker run is for those that dont know? :)

HAHA Simon sorry I assumed everyone knew about the Poker Run hehe

So this is what the Poker Run is about..it's sort of an Amazing Race in cars HOWEVER you have to follow the speed limits. You are penalized 2 points for every minute you arrive earlier than expected and 1 point for every minute you arrive late at each checkpoint.

There are several checkpoints and you get your first clue at the start point, which you are to solve and get to your next point. At each checkpoint you get an envelope that consists of a clue on how to get to the next checkpoint and few playing cards.

At the end of the event, we all have dinner at a selected location and prizes are awarded to those who come first, second, last and as well to the team that has the best poker hand. Results on who comes in what is calculated at the end of it.

Sounds cool. I think that I'll be teaming up with Colin. I will be around that weekend, but I have the first MR2 meet of the year on the 24th so I had planned on prepping my car on the 23rd. Guess I'll just have to clean it all up before that weekend and keep it under cover.

Hey guys - after some planning this weekend it was decided to move the Poker Run a bit to make sure that all flows properly and we have enough time to make it as fun as possible.

New date has been posted on the first page, but it will now be Saturday June 6..so please keep this day free..

I'm actually thinking of putting another meet instead on May 23 to compensate for the date change if people are interested. Just let me know :)

Uh Oh!! June 6th........ I'm helping out with a black belt grading on June 6th. I don't know what time, but it should only be less than 2 hours, hopefully I can do both events. :thumbup:

Hey guys, was having some conflict with schedules with the end point venue for this so we had to move the date again. I PROMISE this is the last date change as I have officially booked it with the venue and waited for them to confirm before making it official.

First post has been updated but the date for the Poker Run is now Sunday June 14
