Annual Niagara Event

Hey all,
So many of you have asked me on many different occasions about this one, and for that I am making this an Annual Event/Meet.

This will be an all day event and I have a few ideas on food. The options have been set up as a poll, so please do tell me which one you do like. Ideally, I would love to do that each person bring something and we can do a BBQ as well, but I want to leave this up to you as I plan these events for you guys

We can start our day with parking our cars (Tom hoping you can hook up the parking from last year’s), then having a late lunch, walking around Clifton Hills and if we want we can go down near the Falls area and then end the night off at Lundy Lane’s for the Cruise Night. For those that don’t know it’s not an actual cruise but it’s where all the parking lots in that area are used up for people to show off their cars, it’s quite a huge showing.

This is what I have in means of meeting times:

For us in East End (Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Markham etc) we can meet at Kennedy Commons for 10am. We will leave KC at 10:30am SHARP and meet up with the Mississauga guys

For those in the West End (Mississauga, Oakville etc) please be at the Krispy Kreme lot for 11am. As us guys from the East meet you guys there, we will leave 5 minutes later. So I am hoping to leave KK around 11:30am

We should be in Niagara by 1pm hopefully no more hail storms like last year :giggle: That being said please everyone bring FRS radios so that we can communicate with one another on the drive to Niagara. As well please bring a lawn chair and hopefully weather is nice but in case bring a jacket.

Oh yes date for this event will be Sunday July 5, so please do leave this open and hope you all make it. I am sure the ones who have been asking me non-stop about this one will show up ;)

Once majority decide on the poll option (you will have two weeks to vote) I can put up a list accordingly.

Tiff - it would have been more organized if the damn FRS' battery hadn't died on me on route to having you meet us :rolf: but yeah we can do the same like we did last year, just figure out who in your area will meet you before hand, if anything we can make a stop and meet you guys too :)

If not, queenston heights is always an option to do the BBQ thing, then cruise to the Hill.

the parking lot behind clifton hill is fine right now and the grass section out back has some rows open, construction all over the property has gone down to a minimum for the summer season

i will do my best to make an appearance sometime that day

What an awesome event, I really enjoyed it last year. I'm definately in for attending, although unless I can get Monday off work (doubt it) cuz I wanna try to get the 9th-10th off work, it'll be an ugly situation with driving from Guelph to Niagara Falls and back, then switch cars and drive to Kingston for work on Monday. I'd also hate to leave early and miss Cruise Night. :(

Seems like a no-win scenario.

I drove by the other day where the parking is in the back and there's just a little bit of construction going on. It might even just be a storage place for the dirt and machinery.

Also if we go to a restaurant, Boston Pizza has renovated so it should be nice!

Just thought I'd hop on over here from NOFR's and let you all know the parking in the back grass part at Clifton Hill is a go. If were going to BP for dinner or a bite to eat its free parking. Security will also know of us parking back there. Plus I'll talk to some of the guys who are working that day, and ask them to do rounds by the cars. Um by any chance where is Boosted_Celi meeting you guys?...Should we meet somewhere in Niagara and then head over to Clifton??...Also all the construction is gone in the back part & the renovations in BP are outstanding..FYI: 14 lane bowling alley...LOL

Ok here is the plan once we all meet up after Tiff we will drive down and get off at York Road aka Glendale Avenue North. We will stop at the Gateway as we will meet up with two Cobalt guys there and gives us a minute to stretch our legs, go to the bathroom and/or grab a drink.
Once done that we will cruise down Niagara on the Lake and then to our end point where Tom will great us with open arms! ;)

Guys I am so happy to say we have close to 30 ppl coming out to this event which is amazing!! After this event is done I want some feedback cause if it goes really well I might plan it another before the summer is up.

Only 2 more days till this event!!! :D

Guys - an update as it is a US holiday this weekend, Boston Pizza or any other restaurant for that matter will not take reservations so we might have to just figure out what time we want to eat and where. I am hoping that if we go at a non-peak time we should be fine but I can look into that while you guys are enjoying Clifton Hills :)

Great time, had my own little fun cruise into the Falls after being separated from the group immediately when we left the lunch stop.
