Hello all! Hope the subject got your attention! :D
I bought a 3M Clear Bra kit for my '03 GTS TRD. It's a complete protection kit; covering hood, fender, mirrors and bumper. Web site is:

Brandon6976 is gracious enough to host the event at his place. This way we can also take pictures of the entire process as well.
I still have to hear back from him, but I asked for a tentative date of 16th August (Saturday).
I'll post more details as we go along. Hopefully we can learn a great deal out of this and try not to push the limits of our patience! :D

Well...You do see a bit of the outline, but it's supposed to be VERY transparent. They say it's 99.5% transparent. The 0.5% is supposed to be the outline or can be shown on light painted cars. Here is some info:

Hope it helps!

That stuffs not cheap, Raymond. I've seen it on a silver car. From a distance, fogetaboutit. No prob, can't see squat. Up close, like you said, you can see the edges but it's probably much better than all the paint chips we all have.

Yeah....Not cheap is right. Whole protection package: headlights, hood, fenders, mirrors and bumper = $580 CDN shipped.
But, my friends seem to understand my concern. Gotta protect my first car! :D

That's what I'm saying. Now that my car is a year old I wish I had done it when she was factory fresh. I have so many little rock chips.

I got one put on before I drove the car away from the lot. It's definetely worth the money. I have a black car and you can notice the seam where the bra starts half way down the hood. It's noticeable when she's dirty, but when it's nice and clean you have to look really close. I don't give a shit though, cause it's keepin my front end from looking like a mess of stone chips.

Someone did tell me, I think it was on Celispeed, that the Carbon Blue paint colour Celica's were getting pretty hard to find these days. That got me started in looking for the Clear Bra.
When I saw paint chips on another Celica GTS TRD at Scott's Annual Meet, that freaked me out!!!
Well...Before I do get the car protected, I am going to get the car detailed so its looking nice. Problem is...The kit hasn't arrived yet...

Should have checked the Sale Section before I bought it. But, I was looking for a complete kit. Is it even possible to mix and match kits from different company's, even though it's the same car?
Also, it doesn't look like this Sunday is going to work out. I still haven't received the kit!

customs probably still has it. If there is no meet its no big deal. I have to check my lift bolts, hopefully they aren't broken off in the engine.

Im wondering... does this help with all the damn bugs that splatter onto the bumper and mirrors when driving? I drive the car freshly washed for an hour and its full of bug splats that are brutal to get off... id go for this protection if it helped just to make my life easier as much as for the paint chips.
(which by the way, i have none so far. some of you were wondering about the 2003 models, if the paint was any better... so far not a scratch, chip or mark on the bumper... or anywhere on the vehicle for that matter)

Baelnorn....If you go to:

There is a pic which says that the clear bra does protect against bugs.
Brandon....Lift bolts? That sounds bad!

Brandon6976, even though it looks like the 3M clear bra isn't going on this Sunday, can I join you guys for this? Since I have a GTS, I think I should be ready for such a problem.

Finally! It arrived! :popo:
This looks like it's going to be a LOT of careful work! Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove wax from the car? It has to be applied directly to the paint. I'm thinking about the Mother's wax removal component.
