Nope.... you should just keep it on until you have more feeling for what the car is doing and how it reacts, once you are confident with that I would take it off during the middle of an event and see what the difference feels like with out it.
The thing with performance mods is you really shouldn't change anything on the car until you know the limits of the vehicle while it's stock, then you can make changes where you think your car needs improvements such as sway bars, springs, shocks etc. That way you can measure the effects of a performance mod properly.
It's actually amazing what you can do with just tire pressures. You can essentially add more oversteer or understeer to your car just with tire pressure adjustments. Thus the same effect as adding sway bars.

Mark, I would suggest a set of 205-50-15 Falken Azenis, they're cheap and they're about the stickiest (non R-compound) tire out there, you won't be sorry!

Actually Mark you need a 205/55/15 tire in order to maintain a correct reading on your speedo. If you were just using 205/50/15s for track events it would be perfect.

Thanks Brent.
Unfortunatly I am not flush enough to afford a dedicated 'Track Set' of tyres, so they also have to be street-able.

That's what I thought, so stay away from the Falkens in the 205/50 size
btw: I too do not have enough moola for a dedicated set of track tires

Oh they'd be streetable, the difference isn't very much, your car would just accelerate a little faster and lose a bit on the top speed (and your speedo would be a little off like Brent said)
I'm not sure what other sizes they make

This may be an awesome trick to help me lower my daily kilometers! If I go small enough, will the spedo start to roll back :)
I could really use that ;)

actually, you'd have to go bigger, a smaller wheel turns more times, hence makes your car think it's going faster and further than it really is.
