WOOOT!!! Number 400!!! Welcome aboard!!

The antenna is 'usualy' everyone's first mod. It's ALLLL Down hill after that.. :giggle:

As to the Driving Tips? I think the best way of learning about your car and how it 'realy' handles is to come out to an AutoX event!

Hey Chan!
Welcome to the club!
There is alot of body kits out there.. it all depends on what you like and how much money you got to spend.. When you come out to the meets you will see alot of different kits and you will have an idea of what you like.

Welcome to the club man!

Apparently the Mini Cooper antenna fits our cars as well.... might be something different to use instead of the S2K...

for a 2002 gt-s the first thing i would change is the ecu-knock sensor to the 00/01

it would bother the hell out of me that i paid so much extra for a cripled version of the car i thought i was buying

Thx for all the info.

Mine is a silver celica; and bought from Bramalea Toyota as a Demo; when i picked it up; it had around 3000km; but they did not give me a maintenance schedule. Do U know know if I could download one somewhere ?

I do not like the mini antenna; becasue it is a bit short ...
What is ecu-knock sensor anyway ?

Thx

The 2002 gts redlines about 700 rpm (correct me if I'm wrong guys) rpm lower than all other versions of the car. The reason for this were a lot of people were blowing their engines downshifting from 6 to 2. So, what a lot of people do is change the computer chip and the know sensor to get that of a different year to get their 700 rpm back, and a hell of a lot more speed to boot. That way, you won't get killed by a matrix.

:) welcome btw!!!

Matthew, if you've never driven another Celica or don't plan on taking your car to the track then you probably needn't worry about changing the ECU.

I changed mine cause it drove me nuts as I was expecting my car to be the same as the 2001 version which revs to 8350rpm, you'll notice your's cuts out at 7800rpm in most gears, and it feels like it starts cutting out at 7600rpm in first. It's really only annoying in first gear.

It's funny now that I've done the swap, I don't often take the car to redline on the street all the time, but it's nice to know it's available if you want/need it

On the autoX it makes a huge difference, cut's down on my gear shifting so i can run quicker laps

At any rate, if you're interested, we can send you in the right direction for the swap.

matt, any honda dealership will have it. around 35-45$. just ask for the 7" honda s2000 antenna. if they give you a weird look...tell them its for your toyota celica and grin :P
