HEllo! i am new to the forum and i have a 91 GT. is this mainly just a 7th gen site or does it cover all years pretty well? i also have a couple questions,
1. would my bolt pattern be 5 x 100? or 114.3?
2. would rims off a GM fwd car (ie, sunfire, cavalier) fit my car? (my friend has some really nice rims for sale)
3. what good beginners mods really help this car perform well?
thanks for the help everyone!

welcome steve!! This board is full of all sorts of strange creatures driving everything from no car to honda's to WRX's celica's etc. etc..hope you get your answers, and stick around ....it's a great bunch of guys n' girls..

btw..if you have a 14" wheel on the GT then your bolt pattern is
5x100, if you have a 13" wheel stock I mean) then the bolt pattern is 4x100...most likely you're looking at 5x100

Rims off any car that meet the bolt pattern & offset will be fine... don't worry about what car they come off..worry about the tech-spec's and you'll be fine

I'm sure the other guys that have the same car as you will jump in shortly 8)

Hey Steve! Welcome aboard!

To attempt to answer your questions:
1) I doooo beleve that your car uses 5x100 rims (same as the 7th gens)
2) If it's the same bolt pattern I don't see why not! (I personaly think that the Neon RS rims would look VERY nice on the Celica  ). There's always the offset to consiter though..

3) I guess it depends on what you're after! Go fast or turn fast! The most basic mods involve getting the car to breath better, and to 'pass-waste' better. A highflow (K&N) airfilter would be a start. Either that or you can step up to a CAI. But you might have issues with finding one for the ST (??)

The other thing to do is to work on the Exaust!! Again you might have some issues finding aftermarket parts. But a couple of our members have gotten some FANTASTIC custom exausts made! It's cheaper then you might expect too!

Hope this helps. :gap:

hey welcome to the site !! yeah I saw a sunfire with the Celica GT-S rims so rims that fit on a sunfire should fit on the celica

5th gen uses 5x100. So buy accordingly.

An intake would be good for your 91. The 1990-91 air boxes have tiny openings behind the driver side front light. Few CAI's exist for the 5th gen, the most popular being the Iceman which is no longer made. I do know a guy who makes intakes if you're interested. He lives in the US though, but built one that slides a full size K&N down into the front wheel well.

If you've got money to blow, just do an engine swap. :D

thanks for the replies.

yeah i figured bring in cold air and freeing the exhaust would help. im into stangs and civics/integras too. what motor could i swap in??? is there a DIY turbo setup anyone knows for 5th gens? are the stock motors okay to handle 6psi of boost? or should i build up the bottom end? i basically know nothing about these cars and there engines, and what can be swapped, etc. is there a turbo celica from factory?

again thanks for all the replies!!!!

man the 5th gen has a 260hp turbo engine (factory) available. Also you have a body that is ready for another driveline. there was a limited line that came All wheel drive and turbo. Not to mention the 260hp engine is stock so if you mod it you can get over 300 from it
