Wow, thanks for the warm welcome guys :)
I live in the East end, just bordering on Orleans.
I found the board just through other boards. I'm going through withdrawl from not being able to drive my car ( I broke my rightleg 2 weeks ago, and since my car's standard, I can't even drive left footed :( Only 4 more weeks with the cast though ) so I've joined a few boards in the past few days.

It's sad I went through an entire boarding season injury free (except a few head injuries) and then 1 week into skateboarding I break a leg :p It's pathetic though, I had just finished a 7 hour skate session, get into my car, turn it on, then just figure "Noone's here, just 2 or 3 more tricks", hit up the quarterpipe and then I'm on the ground. Worst thing was hopping the 30 feet to my car to get my cell phone. Sucked.

Heh, yeah it's a word :) What sport do you do?
horse back riding... the discipline i'm in is called eventing...
dont know if you know anything about horses... but FYI for everyone.. haha it has 3 parts... first thing is called Dressage,... it where the horse is supposed to look all pretty, and u go around in a ring, that has letters all around it, and you do a predetermined test, doing different things at different letters, and you're marked on each thing you do.. person who does it the best wins that part... then you do Stadium Jumping.. which is what, if you ever see riding on tv, is what you'd see... jumping poles and stuff in the ring... you have to leave all the jumps up and do a set course as well.. penalty points are added to your Dressage score if you knock anything down, or go offcourse... then the last thing is Cross Country.. this is the most dangerous.. where you go out in a feild/feilds and jump solid objects, huge logs, trees, ditches, drops, water, things like that... if you fall off those, you get VERY hurt cuz they dont move.. haha its the most fun though, and same with that, if you go offcourse u get penalties, and you also have a set time that you have to do the course in so knowing speed is important... so the person with the lowest score wins bascially
haha anyways, now that you all know everything about my life, what about yours? haha  just playing.. but yeah.. thats what i do.. can be dangerous, depending on what your horse is like... they are a 1 ton animal and if they decide to do something, there isn't much you can do to stop it..
one of these times when i'm at a competition in TO you guys can all come out n watch.. haha...
Grant: you wanna go do soem cross country jumpin when you ride my horse?
SleekAh
04-11-2004, 10:38 PM
Wow, that's awesome. Do you have your own horse? My friend used to lease a horse... I'd like to pretend I know alot about the sport but I'm pretty ignorant ;) I've only ever ridden horses as a recreational activity.
Are there alot of competitions?
Aside from skateboarding and snowboarding I row competitively. It's really disappointing to have broken my leg because I won't be able to resume rowing for 3 months (I'll miss all spring and some summer training). I just hope I can make the team after being out for that long.
My coach almost skinned me after he found out how I broke it. I told him I fell down the stairs since he pretty much forbid me to skateboard :p

Ouch that sucks... yeah the competition season is from May to early October.. and theres usually a competition every weekend.. or most of.. except for august.. only one in august cuz it gets so damn hot and every one will get heat stroke... haha but its awesome, yeah i've got my own horse, he's awesome..
you couldn't row with a broken leg?! don't you use your arms? lol
i guess its a safety procaution right? so u dont drown if you fall in... is that it? i've never known someone who rows... nice!
SleekAh
04-11-2004, 10:56 PM
LOl, alot of people think that. Rowing's actually 70% legs.
You sit on a seat which is on tracks (slides). Your feet are on footstops which are built in the boat. When you're at the catch (Your body's compressed) you push your legs off, sending your ass and body backwards (the drive), and your arms follow into your stomach pulling the blade through the water (finish) then you slowly work your way back up the slide (recovery) and do it again :)
It's
Catch -> Drive -> Finish -> Recovery
Repeated until you finish the race (or get back to the docks because practise is over)
Post a pic of your horse!!! what's his name? How old is he? How long have you had him? :) I totally love horses. My Aunt has two but I only get to visit her once or twice in the summer.

See, after all the skate vids and busted nuts i've seen, even though I'm lacking the package, I'll never have the balls to take rails... no fucking way...
I'm so pissed though, all i was doing was rock n rolling. Figures I fuck myself over doing something easy, eh? Anyways, my back foot slipped off while i was turning and i slammed it to the side. The bone in my foot then pressed into the bone in my leg and snapped it above the ankle. I'm really lucky it went into place though, otherwise I'd have pins in right now. Still might need them though, I'll find out on Monday :\
I should be back on a deck by early June, so I'm not missing out on summer... but it just sucks because you need spring to get your style back. I'm gonna look like shit :D

I remember once we were going around on a trail with jumps and stuff .. I landed hard, bent my forks. Once I was dumb enough to be sitting just off the trailing my friend was way off a jump and landed on my new aluminum light weight front wheel, wheel was bent like an L shape

Holy shit brandon, were you alright?
I almost hit some stupid kid on rollerblades the other day. I had an advanced green and he was standing on a median not paying attention, just as I'm coming up to him he steps out. I would have hit another car had someone turned right onto the same street I was on.
And when I was 12 I was crossing the street and some lady had a stop sign. She started to go so I sat on her hood and started banging. The dumb fuck was picking something off of the passenger seat floor and started going anyways.

yeah I didn't go under .. the bike flew sideways and I landed on his hood.. at the time I was mad cause I split a bottle of coke I had just bought :giggle:
I slide off the hood. Landed on the curb. I was fine and so was the bike. I was more annoyed and told him to watch where the F he was driving and continued on my way.
My bike was dubbed the "deathmobile" as all that stupid stuff that happened happened all to the same bike and it wouldn't die

Trashiest game ever, not worth watching, but I still have faith in the sens... as we all know, they're the only Ontario team with any talent. Thank god for the senators.
(AND, even if the leafs make it past round 1, they wont get passed round 2. They're too old, and are dropping like flies.)
To quote another song: guys don't get the ring when they're a billion years old
 nice to meet you too

Hmm.. the reason I'm not extremely disappointed is because I know that not only did the Leafs not deserve that series, but they won't make it past Philly. The leafs didn't win that series, Belfour did.
Cya later Patty and Radek.
