About SEMA

For four decades SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, has been at the forefront of the automotive aftermarket – a unique industry dedicated to the enhanced performance, appearance and handling of all types of passenger cars, light trucks and recreational vehicles.

Now more than 5,200 companies strong, SEMA has evolved into an international trade association, which today serves and embraces a diverse constituency representing the full spectrum of the specialty automotive equipment industry.

From performance products for street and race applications to appearance accessories for late-model automobiles, SEMA-member companies contribute to the vitality and strength of a $29 billion-a-year retail industry. Cosmetic accessories and handling equipment for the booming sport compact market, along with parts and accessories for muscle cars, classics, street rods and light trucks are all part of this industry. It's not hard to see why our industry's contribution is felt throughout the automotive marketplace, as well as by the legislative and regulatory bodies that govern it.

how do you qualify for it?

Prafull Koli

you don't "qualify", this arrangement 8).. this was secured through assistance from C7 Community & Corporate Relations, as well as unnamed industry contacts, and Peter's natural flair for marketing & public relations

i think it would be more helpful to the 'c7 community' if you shared to its members how this was arranged instead of just making a big happy statement about it and not giving any further details

regardless, congrats

oooor he applied online like everyone else
heres how basically ANYONE can enter
https://www.semaias.com/page/carcomp.aspx

pete isnt entered in sema...heres entered in the sema international auto
salon...which is a biiiiiiiiiiig difference

international is more of a car show, and not the industry leading trade show that sema is is.

C7 shouldnt be misinforming the general public

Much of the speculation & discussion surrounding this accolade is understandable. C7 has taken a leadership position within the organized automotive enthusiast community, and this latest announcement helps to further our club's reach, and Peter's individual profile.

This is the first of several industry related announcements C7 will be releasing in 2004. The C7 Executive Management Team is working behind the scenes building bridges, and relations with industry groups and partners to maintian our organizations growth, membership base, and public exposure.

This is a time to celebrate Pete's accomplishment to represent C7 Performance in Atlantic City @ SEMA, and build his car's public exposure to become the single most recognized celica in Canada.

Thank you to all those that have taken a moment to congratulate Peter, and many thanks to our dedicated members in being a part of C7 as we reach this milestone in our short but explosive club history.

There is much more yet to come

damn why so much hatin.....grant ur saying ur building a fast car...but how many time can u really use that speed.....Its not like u go to a track everyday....its not really USEFUL neither..... what u use it to street race? i mean
how is going fast more useful than looking good
I see more problem in modin a car for it to go fast (engine problem, problem with cops and all)
and when u have a car that looks good....cops dont really care(not here in mtl...as long as u dont have anything illegal) and u pick up chicks :)

I mean...ppl have different goal
some want to look good
other want to go fast.....theres good and bad about both....nways
PEACE!!

thanks for all the congratulatory remarks!
like we've been saying, 2004-05 will be a banner year for c7 performance. and the season has just begun!

as for this quote

how am i jealous of a car that i don't even care for?

Ouch.[/quote]

so, are you automatically assuming there will be no more performance modifications to my vehicle? don't be suprised if my gt-s sees forced induction in the near future. better yet, leave the celica as a show car, and purchase say an m3 in the near future to satisfy my performance need.

why? because i can.

make there cars better and more to there liking!, just dont say anything if
all u have to say is bullshit and rude coments!

your missing my point

i was trying to point out that me and pete have different goals for our cars; hence why i wouldn't be jealous of pete's show accomplishments

sorry if i came off ruder than what was intended, i was just trying to make my point

i for one don't care too much for pete's choice of modding and he already knew that. why? b/c it's my opinion and i'm entitled to like or dislike anything i choose

pete may not care for my car at all either, and i wouldn't let it bother me

it seems that everyone here gets into a big huff when 1 member has a different opinion than the rest, when in fact, that is supposed to be one of the purposes of having a PUBLIC message board

brandon6976

i mean, if that's your thing, that's cool....i've done that before and personally it's not for me anymore. too much hassle for not enough return.

So yeah, back on topic.

I'm not too clear on how C7 will gain exposure to SEMA or SEMA IAS, Pete gets exposure i can see that, but was there some kind of car club entry rather than individual celica entries?

If there was a C7 booth at SEMA showcasing the 'cream' of 7th Gens, that would be direct C7 exposure!

any car that carries c7 logos and is seen on the roads or in shows = exposure for c7.

Prafull Koli
04-21-2004, 12:39 PM
You'll see soon enough Ron 8)

Essentially buidling recognitition for C7 involves more than C7 initiatives alone. It includes the contributions that individual members make and this is a good example. Without releasing any additional details surrounding ongoing negotiations & marketing activity, this entry alone stands to benefit both Pete individually, and the club at large as Peter represents C7 at the show.

He is an ambassador to the world, and SEMA for C7. Important & meaningful relations will be forged over this weekend (with industry & media), and Pete will be there as a representative for C7. He is a member of our Executive Management Team and is also taking this show opportunity to increase C7 exposure.

I hope that gives you a better idea of how we're building C7, and how this announcement plays an important role in our growth plans. However, in the coming months this may become more apparent as future announcements are made.

now i wish i was treated like this by other emt. all my stuff always gets edited, and its along the same lines as how grant posts.

oh well.

just a note, the competition in the states is another level. you need a balance of performance, styling, and in-car entertainment.

if you don't satisfy those minimum requirements, you'll be just another car in the masses.

Prafull Koli
04-21-2004, 08:40 PM
Point taken Aldrin (regarding the edits) ... and by the way... your show experience is a definate asset to the community here.. thanks for sharing & giving your insight... we all appreciate it... but we can't stress enough how important it is to us here @ C7 that we all need to be tactful in how we express our opinions....

We should all try to remember to be respectful of others, avoid personal attacks, and take care in how we question others especially when all the facts are not made availalbe.

I know the competitors in the membership can benefit from your advice ... regardless of how Pete places at SEMA this year, it will only be a stepping stone for better things to come.

Congrats Pete.. and as for the 'thread blowout' it looks like it all started because you gave so much recognition (and clearly not just this one single time) to one person on the board, making it seem that his car is like it's 10 times better than the rest when really everyone here all has beautiful vehicles. I can see how some would read things the wrong way when there is so much boasting/bragging about one single vehicle and how it's on it's way to being the best in Canada. Let's congratulate everyone on their AWESOME work here with their cars as I've seen so many - and not refer to one single Celica as though it's something more than anybody else has on the board.

Good insight man, and good comments.. I'm sure the 'boasting/bragging' was not intended. From an EMT point of view it's realy exciting when we have a chance to show off our community. But you're totaly right. Everyone here is doing awsome stuff. And most importantly, we are having fun doing it.

This is a Media Release..this was purposely placed here in this Forum as an announcement.

This is the first of several releases specifically targeted towards identifying C7 achievements. This thread is indeed meant to be more than a focus on just Peter.

The fact that Peter is EMT is signifigant here, and can not be over looked. Peter isn't simply a regular member on the board here. He is a founding member of C7, and he has always been recognized for his contributions with or without mention of his car.

In this case, both his car, and C7 will be on show this year @ SEMA.

You'll be seeing many more exposure opportunities for members here at C7, as well as C7 in general. Once again..this is just the begining of things to come.
