Actually, I think the event is in Brampton @ the Brampton Centre. You might be very lonely at the Hershey Centre.

 I know have the power of Rs :P
btw: I support the Scabs all the way. It's important for individuals to have there own opinions and make there own decisions. Sorry to here you have to deal with the BS of crossing the line and then dealing with Union Jack Asses trying to paint you as a bad person. Just ignore their immaturity and you'll be fine

There's something about a 227hp AWD turbo car that strikes a deep fear into me. Should be fun, though. :D

 don't worry this AWD pilot is not so hot. The GT-S is about 500lbs lighter, so you turn and brake a hell of a lot faster than me. Trust me I know, I'm still trying to learn to handle the extra weight of the beast.

I went out and had a blast. Only a couple seconds (2.something seconds I think) behind Piotrov which I think is pretty good. He has more expereince and the full tein suspension with strut and tie bars where mine is all stock so I'm very pleased I am that close :D

Also took john out for a spin and john that was actually my fastest run. 67.something

You must come out now john thats the rule :giggle:

Wheeee! That would explaing why I was glued to the door frame for the whole ride and I think I got a secondary concussion from having my head rattling off the front pillar!

Just kidding!

What a blast! I've never been out to one of these before, and what can I say? Like a kid in a candy store.

Pulled up - hopped out of the car and all I could hear was the un-holy howl of tires vs pavement. Sort of trotted around the building and I was presented with a crazy scene. A parking lot full of sport compacts -decaled to the brim with numbers and sponsors. Camping chairs placed in every convievable location, and piles of tires as far as the eye can see. This arena parking lot had magically been transformed into some sort of amature pit row.

Each car had it's own parking spot, and a second beside it for their tires, jacks etc. People were pulling seats out of their cars, spare tires, all sorts of stuff. It was rather neat!

I think the coolest part about this was the people. Everyone was cool. You could just walk up to anyone you wished and start a conversation.

Ran into Les there, and of course the regulars from the C7 race team. Everyone was excited to see me and of course, first thing out of everyone's mouths was -you want a ride-.

So, signed a waiver (in red) grabbed a loner helmet and jumped into Brandon's car.

"don't worry I'll take it easy, I'm not going to kill you"

Then the fastest 67 seconds of my life flashed by. Numerous times, throughout the run -when my fear of dying had subsided for a split second- I'd look down at Brandon's speedo and say,

"There is not way in hell we're only going 60"

Afterwards Brandon explaind that it's one thing to be going 60 down a road, but to be traveling 60 sideways is something entirely different.

And he's right. What a crazy feeling.

I can see how this would become extremely addictive. Between the comrodery between everyone, the fact that you're actually racing your car, and the relative saftely of the whole even leads to one addicitive passion.

So. It was cool. I think everyone should just come and check one out, even if you don't run.

Thanks to Brandon. -who was going to take it easy on me but managed to run his quickest run of the day-

go figure....

Hahaha, awesome times!!!! I love R compounds finally I'm competetive in my class :P believe it or not Jeremy's Protege is in a higher class than my WRX, therefore he better kick my butt!!! :D

Brandon did a fanatastic job, amazing what tires can do eh!!!

So we had 3 Celica's from C7 competeting, Tod, Piotrov and Brandon!!! Good job guys :D

I saw John for like 2 minutes and then disapeared... where did you go man? Sam with Les, you all did drive bys are something....

I've got a few pics I'll post in the next day or two - just need to get them uploaded.

Good to meet you Brent. Glad to see you like the Rs. Definately worth it if you want to be competitive. Did you notice that all cars in our class finished with 95 points or better ( I should know, I was last with 95.9). That suggests to me that it was a very competitive class - congrats on your great finish!

~shrug~ no idea. I don't really compete for the points and ranking. I just go to have fun. At first they had my classed as a "Honda Toyota Celica GT-S" :giggle:

Unfortunately my Paseo is no more. It sort of got crashed on the 401 last week.
Solo 2 is full of awesome people, the owner of that Civic let me drive it for this event.

Hey Peter, want to hear something freaky?
After I drove your car in the fun runs, I also got to drive Ryan K's stock Echo Hatch. I don't know how I managed it considering that they are two completely different cars... but I got the exact same time in both cars!
I just find that kindy freaky... :?

Hehe, well, Ryan does have his dad to help get his car setup properly. It's stock, but he can still adjust tire pressures, and he's got an adjustable swaybar too.

What suspension parts do you have that are adjustable?

Piotrov

i have the rear sway bar and i also have the abjustable dampening which is the thoughest part!

Those echos are so impressive! Simon, Protege dude said they handle better than his protege and would make the perfect autox car as well. Ryan was faster in his echo than I was in my car which has twice the power! small light cars rule autox events!

Way too cool that Piotr got into scn!

I was reading a cool artical in BOOST regarding car set up! They said a nice cheap way to check if you're tire pressures are set to optimal was to take shoe polish and run it along the tread of your tire and down the side wall.

Adjust to the pressure you think is optimal, and do a hard run

afterwards, check out how much polish is left. The optimal setting should have all the polish rubbed off the tread, but left the rest on the sidewall.

If the sidewall has lost some polish, your pressure is too low. If there's polish left on the tread the pressure is too high..

then adjust and try again until you've optimized the tire!!!

Donno. is this common practice?

Piotrov

WOHOOO!!! Thanks Todd!
