Mark, lets talk. I am heading to Grand Bend for the weekend for Thunder by the Beach but..... BUT....
If you remember meeting Barry at last Wednesday's meet, he was there trying to get something going for our mod scene here in town.
He met with me today and made some interesting offers and we shared some ideas. I need to round up a few peeps and try and pitch this idea. I have already called a couple of people and I will make a quick meeting tonight at George St. Tim Hortons for 8:30pm.
I know its very soon but I need to talk with Barry again on Tuesday, he is heading down to NOPI soon and needs some responses to bring to his people he has connections with.
I discussed things as club insurance and rates, making noise, a good name for Peterborough drivers etc.
This is what I was offered for our guys but it is to be discussed.
If operated as club name: UPSCALE PERFORMANCE
We get:
- Excellent backing from leading manufactures
- Website with professional creators (he will pick up the bill)
- Club Insurance (he will pay, pick up the bill up front)
- A building is already set aside and will be ours for weekly meets etc.
(location undisclosed but off the Parkway in Peterborough)
The building will house room for indoor cars shows, a playroom for its members, no drugs, no alchol, we can make lots of noise, outdoor meet area, the building will have room for members to work on their cars.
- Kawartha Speedway will offer us matched racing and track time etc.
- When a member joins they will get windshield banner and surprise package etc.
- much much more but that is a little starter.
There will be an annual membership fee but not too bad for what we are going to receive in return.
He asked me if I would team up with him to get it going. The name UPSCALE PERFORMANCE will actually be an incorporated business name as of Wednesday next week and they are also very much into the pocket bike racing scene.
Trying to combine it all into one family I suppose.
Well you know where I will be tonight but not for too long, look out Peterborough... we may just have something big here.
