all right first to clear things up, i was not the one involved in this accident, but rather another celica.
friday night at around 10:30pm i was heading east on steeles to pac mall and grab a late dinner. i was cruising in the left lane and all of a sudden the motorists slowed down and maneuvered around what appeared to be a huge accident. glass and random car parts was everywhere on the ground. as i made my way through, my heart sank. it was a stock silver celi gt. its entire front was crumpled to bits and the whole passanger side was dented in. the other car involved was a green 4runner suv. cops and tow trucks were already on the scene. i continued on towards the mall, went in, grabbed a bite, headed back west on steeles. the two vehicles were still blocking 1/4 of the intersection (steeles & pharmacy). i made a left into pharmacy and put on the blinkers. i walked towards the two men and asked them what happened. the two men were driving the 4runner. apparently they ran the yellow, the celi was making a turn, the suv pummeled it. while i was speaking to the cops, the tow truck attempted to tow the smashed celi. the most agonizing sound was heard. parts from the celica were dropping everywhere as it was being pulled. finally the two truck driver realized his efforts were futile and instead thought of another way to tow the car. i wish i had a digital camera on me. i examined the celi...front completly smashed/crumped inwards, both airbags were out, front wheels were hanging by a limb, however...the headlights were still intact. our celica headlight housings seem indestructible. everything around the housing was smashed. as damage of the 4runner goes, only the small front bumper bit fell off.
the kicker
i arrived at the scene in my silver celi, asked what happened and if i could be of assisstance. the suv owner and tow truck driver innocently questioned if i was the driver of the smashed celi. i said no, pointed to my car, "that is my vehicle. why do you ask?" turns out the smashed celica was stolen from york region. the driver of the celi ran off after the accident. (injured i can almost guarantee, if not possibly life-threatening since the car was crumpled that badly).
anyways, i stayed there for about 30 minutes. then i went home. very shocking...wish i carried a digital camera with me.
