Picked up my celi today, a little disappointed

Sup guys, just picked up my celi today from the shop. The front bumper doesnt seem to match the body paint. It's close but not perfect, and I thought tekniq painter were good. Maybe I should get it repainted at toyota. :sad:

very noticeable to me, but it is pretty close. I know silver paint are hard to match, but I was expecting a closer match. Then again I'm anal as hell...but i'll post some pictures soon.

Does the rest of the skirt match? or did you just get the front painted?
i know how you feel though, Even though no one else notices it you still cant stop but think about it and it buggs the hell out of you :D

Why don't you take it back and mention that you're not happy with it. Maybe go halves on a repaint with them?

forget halfs .. make them do it again .. say you won't accept it back until its done right and if there is more than 10k on the odometer you're taking them to court :giggle:

hey THE_PRO I feel your pain man...I am waiting on my kit to come back from the shop too...i have a silver celi aswell and the guy said he "would do my best to colour match" ohhh this kinda freaked me out when i heard that. keeping my fingers crossed though

Sorry to hear about that man. If it is not done to your satisfaction, I would take it back. Body shops doing paint job on souped up cars should know how important this is anyways. If it was free, not much you can say. If you paid for it and it doesn't match, I would fight for it. Did the body shop tell you ahead of time that they may have a hard time matching it?

go back .. the worse that can happen is they don't do anything which is the point you're at now. Just go tell them you noticed the colour was off and its a show car so its important that stuff actually matches

yup...take it back...and get them to do it right...you didn't pay for a two tone job..you paid for a color match..that's what they're paid to do...otherwise we could go buy 50 cans of silver spray paint from crappy tire, and you could pay us...they're "professionals" and should be held accountable when the job done is anything less...

My godfather owns Mavis Auto Collision, and he told me that from stock the bumpers dont match the car as they are painted seperatley from the shell. Also paint appears different on different surfaces (plastic, metal). He said it will be very close, but someone with a keen eye will be able to see it. If it is that noticable they screwed up, but if its very, very close I think your out of luck man...

i suggest u DONT get it repainted at toyota
i got my blitz painted there cause i thought they would best match my absolute red
i think it is virtually impossible to match the stock paint job

It is very close, and not that i have washed it and waited a bit. It mached even better now. I guess I shouldnt complain.
