There's a quote at the bottom of the Lanark Highlands website that says:

Last year co-driving ace Brian Maxwell won the Lanark Highlands Rally, then went on to win the Rally of the Tall Pines. Coincidence? I think not!!!

This year, Lanark Highlands was won by Andrew Comrie-Picard. Who has never won a National level event before (though has come close on MANY occasions). Perhaps this will be his year...

I am involved in a trade show that weekend. Sled-a-rama!

It's my favorite show of the year because I get to see our local customers come out and get good deals.

Last year we sold $30,000.00 in Ski-Doo clothing in 8 hours. I process transactions quicker then the eye can see.

Have fun guys, take pictures and drive safe. Now that I think of it... Mark you saw my car tonight. Looks like its rally ready!!! lol.

I am crying

Yer in?!

SWEEET!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away!!! :gap:

I was all keen to check out some 'alternate' vantage points this year also. Even did some recey over a few roads that I'm pretty sure are going to be stage roads this year.

.. however I also came accross this post on the TSC forums.

There are 5 spectator stages which will give you plenty of opportunity to watch the cars. If you do go to the new road you will make me (car 000) have to stop and talk to you guys and get you to move out of the stage. This will likely delay the rally also so please enjoy spectating on the spectator stages. Besides, if you went to the first stage you would only see the cars once as the stage is run once. I realize this is not ideal for some of you but you must understand this is now an insurance issue unfortuantely and therefore have no choice but to control spectator movement. Thanks for your cooperation

Insurance companies are bastardsonsofabeeeotch. But I guess untill we as a society learn to take responsibility for our own actions, we have to let a small group of individuals ruin it for all of us.

Hard to say!! Looks as if there is going to be alot of REALY good competition this year. Erkison, L'Estage/Napert, Sprongle, Comrie-Picard, Geer. Awsome feild of competitors! Plus I'm REALY curious to see how the newbie duo of Martin/Woolverton do in there 1985 Subaru RX.. If the car doesn't break in half, ( :giggle: ) I think they may surprise a few people.

More like 'aquantinces'.. Gary used to work at the Go-Shop. One of Peterborough's only Performance Shops.

Realy good guy to be sure.

I was REALY impressed at how well Chris was driving. In the second RallyX event he moved from the middle of the pack in his class to SECOND PLACE.. Richard Wong and Tibor both had cars that were running near or over the 300HP mark.

.... a mear 3 times what that old 'mildly-turbo'd' RX was running..

WOOT!!!

The Entry list has been UPDATED!!!

http://www.tallpinesrally.com/2003/Competitors/EntryList.asp

Not only are we up to about 50+ entrants, but we have some AMAZINGLY good drivers competing at this event!!

I realy do think it's ANYONE'S game this year!! Richard might have wrapped up the championship, but Tall pines has NOT been kind to him in the past (crashed in the first stage - OLD HASTINGS!!!! WOOT!!!)

THis year he will have will have SERIOUS competition from McGeer, Sprongle, L'Estage (if there car can hold together that is), and the Losier's (who quite frankely is a better driver then Richard IMO).

An entire RAFT of SERIOUS compeditors!!! This should be a fantastic rally!!!!

WOW!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry where are we meeting up Mark?

Well it alll depends on when YOU intend to get there.

Too many of you have suggested that you're showing up in the afternoon for the Spectator stages.

Myself I'll be there at 8:30am or EARLIER to check out the preparation, and hopefuly get a good look at the cars before they break.. :giggle:

That means leaving Norwood by 7:00-7:30. If anyone wants to stop-by let me know. I'll cook up a pile of Backbacon, homefries and Eggs.. :gap:

I'll be at the main spectator stage, and I'll have my FRS radio. Channel 7 as usual. Just look for the guy with the full length black Auzzie Coat (and depending on the weather, perhaps a cowboy hat)

Don't even bother with your Cel-phones. They won't work.. :|

You can do whatever you like!

But I'm not missing the stage start this year and it's approxmatly 80-100km to the rally HQ.. I was VERY angry last year to have missed it..

Tall Pines was awsome! Mark and Christine stayed behind in the spectator areas but me, my brother and his friends went to the stages and had an incredible time! Saw some cool sections of road and some jumps, talked to a few crushed out crews... after a stage on the lower Old Hastings road was cleared we jumped in the cars and drove down it - WHAT A ROAD!!! twisty and full of blind crests, just beautifull.
It was a long and tiring day, lots of hicking running and getting rained on but it was all worth it!

BTW: TV coverage is TONIGHT (Tuesday Nov. 30th) @ 7:00!!
(on Sportsnet)

WOOT!!! I can't wait to see what happened!!

It was a SHUT-OUT for Subaru, as most of the heavy hitters retired with either mechanical issues, or crashed!
