I'm looking for some 5 spoke rims (either solid 5 spoke,or with the cool split in the middle of the spoke) in a 14" size, and maybe with tires too.
Does anyone have any sitting around for sale,or know of somewhere on the net I could look?
I went to a wheel shop on the Queensway near Kipling and the guy gave us a good deal, some nice 14" aluminum rims for $747,that's for a set of 4 after tax. Anyways,I'm still looking around for other deals or choices.
Anyone able to help? Greatly appreciated. :slap:

did u try ebay or buy & sell? there are usually lots there...but search @ ebay.ca...at least that way you can limit the search to items for sale IN Canada...shouldn't be too difficult tho...

nope, because when I do that,I have to recalibrate the speedo and get an adapter for the hub,and I want to be able to sitch between my good (new) rims, and my stock rims for winter,so changing the size is out of the questin.
But thanks guys,I'll check out some of those sites.
BTW,I REALLY love the 5 spoke rims on the current Celicas. Mmm mmm good.

you won't need to recalibrate your speedo as long as you keep the overall circumferance the same as your 14s.
Whats this hub adapter? If its' just a spacer for the offset, than that's easy and don't worry about.

how can you keep the circumference the same if you go to a larger tire? It's an inch bigger now,and that would throw the speedo off a few miles, would it not? And the adapter is for is i was going to a 4 bolt or something,or if i needed spacers and all that crap.
I'm picking up a set of 14" rims from a scrapped celica tomorrow,I'm going to sell them,with tires,as a set for $400.

you can easily upgrade .. essentially your 14" rims comes with a certain amount of rubber on them. When you go to 15" rims you get less rubber which is actually better cause its typically going to be stiffer and give you better handling

Right, depending on how low profile the tire is (rubber) you could go from a 3 inch side wall to a 2 inch side wall (theoretical numbers). Since you've taked an inch off the sidewall (that's actually 2 inchs on either side of the tire) you can go with a much larger rim and keep the original diameter of the whole wheel, therefore you don't mess up your speedo.

ohhhhhh,ok,i gotcha now. hmmm...looks like a whole LOT more rims are available to menow. Decisions decisions....
I'm also looking to spend under $1000 on a set of 4 rims. I found some beautifl rims, but I don't know how much they are. They are Volk Racing's "Challenge" rims. Oh my god,are those sweet.

lol .. keep in mind guys with 15" GT rims are getting 18's and 19's so your choices are pretty much endless however it does get pricey when you get the bigger rims

not really .. you can get them lighter than your 14"s .. have so little rubber you'll handle like your on rails and be faster than stock .. not to mention it makes the car look hot

but then you would have to be very careful how and where you drive...i.e. the area where i used to live...potholes everywhere

That's a VERY good point..
Too large a rim, and you will be placing a great deal of stress on your car's front end. Rubber acts as a pretty good shock absorber.
I think you would be fine with the 15" rims though. Not to mention if you hang out here long enough some GT owner (cough, cough) will probably end up partin' his stock alloys out. :D

yeah but my main point is that i see 18/19s as pointless, unless they're just for show, and they still look rediculous.
