Hey everyone, nice to see some local celi fans. I just bought an '03 Celica in Super Yellow, and am in limbo hell waiting every day for the car to be shipped. (Im picky with my specs and it had to be factory built and ordered)
Im up in Sudbury, Ontario, where this kind of ride is as rare as hot women.
You guys putting on any kind of events this summer to get together and brag about our toys? I could use a bit of advice on what I can do to this baby. Im down in the GTA once every few weeks.

Welcome.. we will surely give you some good advice on what toys are available for your ride. One thing that I already know would look shhhhwwwwweeeeetttttt on the yellow is a carbon fiber hood and a RMM or Kaminari carbon fiber spoiler!
But one step at a time, gotta get the car first! :D

Wasn't the specs really that made a dealer trade not available and factory build only option, it was the colour. Ive wanted a yellow car since I was about 5 years old.
Ive already arranged for black tint for the windows and bought a sweet security system, http://www.compustar.org/products/2WSS.html.
I was going to order some black headlight covers, btu now i got an image of a carbon fiber hood on it, and im drooling. thanks scotty!
The only other mod i'll be able to afford after all this by the time i get the car will be a performance exhaust system and maybe cold air intake. The rest will just have to be one step at a time.
Scotty, i love that interior!! Where did you get that done, and how much would it set me back to do that in Yellow? Your only 3 horus away from me, so whatever shop did it for you...
Thanks for the welcome by the way!

hey welcome Mike...I have fond memories of Sudbury...went to Laurentian University for a year..it was a blast!

Laurentian University isnt good for an education, half the professors are insane or cant speak english.... its only good for parties and getting drunk on a daily basis, I loved my years there!

Just found you while looking for some local area Celica fans. Its nice swapping pics and ideas all over the place, but was looking for a place where evtually may lead to some local events I can actually get in on. Driving to TO is no biggie... driving to California is. :)

Very good choice on the security system.. I recommend the Compustar to everyone!
For maximum performance gains you'd be best to get the TRD exhaust and an Injen CAI.
Yes, carbon fiber looks absolutely AMAZING on yellow! I'd definitely grab one if I had yellow. Also instead of getting black TRD headlamp covers - I would suggest that you get them tinted instead to look like the JDM headlights. We have a member on this board (CONTROL ONE) who takes apart your headlights and will tint them black inside - which looks very impressive!
As far as my interior painting I had it done at a shop called Collision Networks in Concord, Ontario. They do incredible work. It's an exact match to the exterior paint and is guaranteed for life - you'd swear it came stock.
I can tell you lots more - add me on ICQ or MSN

I've seen the yellow interior .. it looks ok .. I think it would look better if the dash was black .. which is what you'll have since you're getting an 03 .. so yeah yellow will look good :D

Scotty, put you on MSN and ICQ, shows ya as offline.
Injen or Apexi were the two exhausts I am considering, but one of the guys i work with has a suped up cavalier (220 horses... but still a crappy cavalier) :) had an Apexi and after one ontario winter it was worn out pretty good and sounding horrible... he has since replaced it with stainless steel.
The headlight tints sound awesome, but with a carbon fiber hood, might be a bit too much black on the yellow? I guess id have to see a pic, maybe l'll photo chop one and see how it looks.
I just have to get an interior paint job like that though... after $900 on that security system and tint job (being done by Image Window Tint in Barrie... anyone ever deal with them? bit wary dealing with someone i dont have a referrence for), ive got about $1400 to spend on Mods before I get the car. And after the exhaust and CAI, probably only a couple hundred... whats that interior job cost?

for the exhaust if you're going with a brand name you're probably better off to get the TRD .. it has the most gains and it does sound very nice.

Fantasitic to have you aboard man!
The Yellow looks VERY slick on the Celi. Can't wait to see how it looks when you are done with it! Are you getting the GTS or the GT?
I'm assuming there are interesting roads up in Sudbury??

EMT stands for Executive Management Team. Essentially the "EMT" teams goal is to get things going for a board. Such as the organization of a poker run, to say being a PR person and talking to businesses for buy in ..
Basically EMT is a small group of people who's job is to make C7 run smooth and make sure that it runs like a bussiness and professional but still is a cool place to chat like a club house :gap:

I ordered a GT. Based on all the reviews I read, theres only a big difference in the GT-S at high speeds, and i figured id rather spend the extra $5,000 on Mods, since the GT-S would have broke me.
And yes, our roads are horrible. beyond horrible. I have a friend whos father has a body shop and will install a body kit for me free, but im afraid of installing one until i throw on some 17 or 18" wheels to get a bit more clearance.

Exact same reason I picked up the GT instead... it wasn't worth the extra 8G's to me for the exact same body style and 40 extra ponies. I've already used up that 8G and plenty more on mods though... hehehe
Yeah I am at work right now man (can't use ICQ or MSN here) but I'll talk to you when I get home and try and help out the best I can with any questions - I've learned a lot over the past 3 years with the Celi! :D
