hehe actually a couple times he has mentioned to me about how he wish his GT had a little more kick. Then I took him for a ride in my gt-s .. we were going like 140 in a parking lot and he was pretty glued into the seat holding onto the door handles.

i refuse to spend more than 50k on a new car. I personally think its the worst things you can do. Once you start to do that you're just buying a status symbol.
If you're willing to spending that sort of cash might as well build something that WILL stand out. I reffer you to my previous post http://forums.c7performance.com/viewtopic.php?t=62
Other than something like that. There is no reason to spend more than 50k .. at least not in my eyes. You could get something custom built like that for around the same price tag, more power, more style and a rumble that will turns heads every time.

not mention the obvious fact that it's fiscally an STUPID thing to do...on payments none the less...duh...
might as well just open up his window (from his basement apt of his parents house, and throwthe money outside into the wind..

yep. He has (possibly had by now) a very nice GT. IMO there was nothing wrong with it. If he wanted speed he could have just bought some nitrous or waited till the turbo kit was out for it which aparently is already working they just need to iron out small details.

I'm sure you've all noticed, but the RX-8 pricing is now out, at least in an early press release form. It looks like the top trim, the GT, is going to start at $39.5K-ish. I wonder how much additional options will run.....
Not to be judgemental, but that's one heck of an expensive car for a new graduate with a loan to pay off.

You are totally right...check out my post under RX-8 priceing in OT... Dude for that money I would get the 350Z...5 grand more for a faster, better looking, higher quality car with 10X the class of that POS...

personally I don't like the 350z much but I don't either of the cars are worth that much.

I loved it at firs and then for some reason I hated it after...now I love it again wierd. I priced one out yesterday... With 25G down it was 500 and change for a 36 month finance...not bad...but I'd rather have the new Subaru WRX STI that is coming out next year. My next sports car is coming turbo for sure...

well, well, well.....nice to know you guys take such an interest in what i do...
brandon, thanks for the compliment on the celi, i loved her, but i just feel like something new...it's never felt the same after the accident
matt, we've had enough arguments about this, we both know where we stand
praful, hmm, not sure what to say man, you seemed cool to me in person/email but i guess that was a front since you wanted my KONI's. 'throw the money out of the window of my parents house?' good one...yes, i live with my rents, your point? it's not financially responsible for a 23 yr old to buy a 40G car? and what, it's wise for a 23 yr old to have a 25G car and spend 10G in mods in 1 year? you have to take into account the difference in price of these two cars isn't 15G, it's about 2-3G when you take my mods into account. last time i checked i was allowed to spend MY money the way I want to...is that ok with you?
morgan, yes and no. yes it's a big purchase but you have to take into consideration the difference b/t my car modded and a new car. with my car modded, i'm in debt since you can't pay for mods over a period of time. by parting my car, it eliminates my debt, therefore i'll start clean with the RX-8.
so for all the rest of you that choose to make my personal life part of your conversation, how bout you bring it up with me first instead..
i'm not here to start a fight, i may stick around, i may not...just giving you my side of the story

Hey man I think its mainly cause there was a fight that never really got resolved between you and manny. Aparently the threads were getting locked. He vented .. now you're bitter. I think you two need to just get in a boxing ring and settle it and be done with.
As for the keeping it from you I'm sure everyone knew you'd eventually find the site

yup...I think you're wasting your money, leasing a $40000, and yup it's your business..but that was just my opinion...don't take offense..I also hate that fucking car..I think it's ugly...and yes I wanted your Koni's...you were offering a wicked deal!!
It's one of those things grant, but you're just too easy to wanna talk about ...you're always "out" there...like a beacon...not a bad thing...just the kinda guy that attracts attention...so of course you'd be the subject of our attentions..(you really should be flattered g)...
I've always been totally straight with u...and here...on this board you'll see that anything I've had to say about you is my opinion, and I try to keep it respectful...search the posts and you'll see how often your name comes up..your popular mofo...and alot of the guyz look up to you...
anyways...I am really glad your here, and I know I'd love to hear wtf is happening with you & the car...we're all wondering...most people are wondering what you're doing...
So the world is watching...tellus man...what gives on the celi, and are you here to join the vibe?

never knew i was so popular, i guess that's what being an attention whore gets ya :P
in case you haven't noticed, playing the mod game isn't the wisest investment either. cars are never an investment, and you'll ALWAYS lose money on them. keeping the celi doesn't benefit me anymore than getting the mazda will.
i'm not gonna get into celica vs. rx8 debate, i have my opinion, other ppl have theirs, that's what opinions are, plain and simple.
i guess it's time to run a search on my name...any links are appreciated.

Yeah...excellent point...I think like you've said before...in moderation...it's OK..thats the approach I'm taking...I am getting rid of mine in a couple of years..so anything i'm doing (audio, rims, kit, etc) is something that I'll sell or carry on to the next car...
The way I see it...the money we spend on modding brings value to the experience ... had we left the cars stock we couldn't gain that perceived value...however modding we spend x dollars, and get at least 50% of x when we part-out...to me the true net cost of the modding is 50% of what I spend in total, and the balance is emotional...for me , and prolly most people...it's totally worth it...but in moderation...
I'm prolly either gonna get into a porsche, or supra in a few years...
