I took my car in to the dealer today for an oil change and alignment. They said it'll be ready by 12 pm and @ 12 they called me and said they cracked my bumper. I was like okkk (thinking it probably only a minor crack) When I got there, the fucking front lip is like ripped.  I WASSSSSSS FURIOUS, BUT KEPT CALM. They said they'll fixed it, but they'll have to keep the car for a couple days, and since i'm under 21 they can't rent a car out for me. WTF, that's my only car, so i'm SOL. One shitty thing is that the manager (didn't really said it out) said that they couldn't afford fixing things like this if it happens w/ my car again. So it's be wise if i raised my car back up or kind of find another place. How fuck up is that?? All I have to say is, they better fix it good, or i'll be all over their asses.

Dude.

This is a VERY serious issue.

Step #1
Document the damage to your car. IMMEDIATLY

Step #2 - Call Toyota USA
1-800-go-toyota
And tell them what happened. Also relay to them that the dealership DAMAGED your car, and the verbal correspondance that both of you underwent..

Step#3 - Call the cops/insurance company.
Your car has been damaged for over $x dollars. This is property damage. Pete's under 21, and his insurance company made sure he has a rental car. Find out what your insurance company has to say. They may not wish to allow the dealership to do the repair work.

I have no simpathy for this. The dealership should have said. "We screwed up. We are sorry. We are fixing this. Here is a loner.."

Instead they say. "we can't afford to fix this if it happens again", "we have no intention of giving you a loner, and we don't care."

Mistakes happen. And I have a great deal of patience when it comes to the 'shit happens' factor.. provided of course that it doesn't happen again..

However in this case not only did they screw up, but they are trying to screw you. Ergo: TAKE THEM TO THE CLEANERS.

Rather then dealing with this they will now:
1) Have a very bad rep with Toyota USA.
2) Have the insurance policy increase.

Any good buisness would have repaired it .

 I'd have to agree with Mark, you should do something about it and do it as soon as possible. Sooner the better. Don't let them screw you like that.

i assume your car is lowered and probably has a large front lip (veilside you have right?). the ramps many toyota dealerships use will literally rip your lip off...the ramps where the car must be driven up and then hoisted.
those ramps are specifically made for stock toyotas...can't even drive up a wings west front lip w/ 1.3" lowering springs.

thus in the future, call around and ask dealerships if their hoists lift up directly from the ground...you drive right over the lifts (instead of up).
the dealership should have told you they couldn't drive it up the ramp

Never the less. I think they should have realized that the ground clearance wasn't enough for the car, and simply decided not to perform the oil change rather than risk your car.

Do as Mark says. Amazing things happen when you call Toyota directly.

I know a guy who owns a dealer, and he told me that if they ever get anything below satisfactory on any of their surveys, Toyota Canada launches an investigation into them, and can revoke their license.

I understand what you're saying Mark, but should I turn this into a big ordeal? And I don't want to deal w/ the insurance company. They might increase my insurance rate (kit, lowering the car) :D

The manager said that, but very courteous. I was kinda heated and make it sounded like a huge ordeal. Wonder where i'm gonna take my car to fix it after this :D. And yea, i think they should've loan me a car.

Funny thing before all this happen is there's a guy who works there asking if i'm willing to sale my car. probably doesn't want it now

Question: if they're going to fix my kit, will it likely to look as though nothing happen? i don't want it to crack there again in the near future. And anyone in here w/ lowered car, how you go about doing alignment?? stuffs??

Shit, that totally sucks man. Mark has given some excellent advise. I would definetely follow thru with it.
I would demand that they replace your front bumber. That is urethane correct? They can't fix that properly, I'm sure it will crack again.
I can't believe the dealer actually had the nerve to tell ya they won't fix it again if they break it again! WTF kinda BS is that, they are basically saying they are stupid enough, that they will break it again due to their incompetence!

you can fix fiberglass .. however to do it properly they'll have to sand it down .. get it glassed and then get everything repainted

Whether or not you want to turn this into a "big deal" is up to you. They are screwing you around. And if they are doing it to YOU then they are doing it to others. Tell Toyota!!!!

As to the insurance. I don't think YOUR insurance company will care. They will go after the dealer's insurance for the damages (as well they should)..

I'll decide today whether i'm gonna turn it into a big deal. If it look exactly when i bought the kit, then i'll let it go. If i can see some flaw, then hell w/ it!

check other toyota places ... look for a place that uses a lift that has the "arms" (don't know the proper terms but it has 2 arms for each side of the car), the toyota I go to has that and they'll be able to service the car.
