Holy crap,it sounds amazing. We cut off the muffler and ended up driving it around without the muffler,it is SO rediculously loud,it's so awesome.

Turned out I bought a 1 7/8" pipe which was just a bit too small,so after 2 hours of fiddling with that we gave up and drove to Canadian Tire sans exhuast and bought some new pipes and by the time we got back,it was dark and cold so we said "screw it" and we'll finish it tomorrow.

We have to either bolt or weld on the straight pipe after the axle and bolt on the silencer tip. It's still going to be hella loud.

I LOVE the sound,it's so wicked. I can feel it vibrate my seat while I'm in it. So that's cool,I got a new exhuast and free seat massagers. Wicked.

I'd finish the job today, but right now,we're getting freezing rain up here,my mom called me from work this morning, she said the roads were really crappy,so i don't know if I'll be going out anywhere. I may go up to the wreckers and take the wheels from the scrapped Celica though.

i've just come across a bit of a dilemma...

When I have to do my e-test,will the car fail because it has no muffler, although it does still have the cat and resonator?

Or will I have to rig up some sort of muffler when e-test time comes around?

Well, tonight I got it all properly hooked up.

It just sounds so....it's perfect.

STRAIGHT PIPES OWN!!

straight pipes definately rule ..

You should try and get the car e-tested now to see if it'll pass come time to renew

I think I can get it e-tested at the garage I work at. i don't see why it wouldn't pass, because the muffler just restricts the sound. The car still has the stock exhuast system, all I did was cut the muffler off and replace the muffler with a pipe and tip. So,it still has the cat and resonator, which do all the emission work, right?

the cat does most of the emissions from what I understood .. but I'm not sure to be honest

I don't think I'll have any problems. When do you have to get your car e-tested? Mine passed with flying colours when we got it certified.

some time next year I think .. not sure though

do you still have the cat on yours?

I'll have pics of mine up tomorrow. It's "temporarily" installed right now. It's held together with duct tape and hung up with speaker wire, until we can get it welded, bolted or soldered.

damn the duct tape holds with all the heat ?? yeah I do still have my cat .. though I took out 2 resontators and 1 muffler .. replaced with one resonator

What is a e-test ? :?

you have to get your car emission tested every 2 years in Ontario to make sure your car isn't belching out black smoke and polluting .. though a straight pipe doesn't make it shoot out black smoke it does pollute a little more .. no idea how much though

yeah, the duct tape should hold it,hence the term "duct tape" used for HEATING ducts on furnaces and stuff.

On my car,I've got the cat,and then behind it,it goes into the resonator, then goes into the mid pipe which goes up over the axle into the straight pipe.

i did notice the car does belch out a little more smoke when the engine is cold, but that's normal.

I'll give it a run tomorrow and see how it fares. Besides,if the duct tape melts,it'll just melt onto the pipes, and it'll just stick to it. It'll be like a REALLY half assed job of oxy-acetylene welding it.
