Why do you drop in so much money to modify your car?

For me:
1.) so many silver celicas out there...i have to be different.
2.) i enjoy looking at beautiful things 8)

a question people probably seldom ask themselves...

I do it cuz' I love the attention it gets...I would never pass this off as a hobby...modding to me can be a pain in the ass...I enjoy the after product...and in future will gladly pay someone else to do it for me...

and ofcourse I love the idea of having something unique, and sharp looking...s'bout it for me...

next car I get...I'll buy it with everything I want on it (as much as possible) .....too time consuming for me...

I don't.

My money goes into funding my every-growing army of the undead.... oh, and I buy a lot of camera stuff.

I mod to be unique from all the stockie's in my boring city. I have never seen so many stock celi's in my life. Also, it brings me joy to see something I've accomplished with my hard work.

I do it because i love it..
Its just one of them things that i love to do.
I love for the car to look different from everyone elses.
Every car is different and the car reflects a big part of you.

To be honest if I wanted to boast I would get the last gen of the Trans am. Don't matter if your running a boosted Civic or RSX it'd rip you a new asshole and still have power to spare..

Hell no offense to anyone but the Supra is just japanse answer the the American Muscle car.

I love my celica and would never get ride of it. But when it comes to pure brute strength power nothing beats american muscle

I like to do it to 1) stand out from the crowd and get noticed 2) it's fun 3) gives me an excuse to work on my car 4) have a cool looking car that is different from everyone else's 5) make it faster 6) make it look cooler

It's hard when you're on a budget though :(

1) I like it as a hobby
2) I like being able to race cars around the track that would otherwise be considered "out of the celica's leage" in stock form.
3) it's fun
4) gives me an excuse to work on my car
5) have car that is different from everyone else's

This last year it's been fun having a car that looks completely stock except for the exhaust and it not being anywhere close to stock. So many people would write off the car before they see it run and then you catch them by suprise.

As long as I can take my car to the track and race it I'll be moding what ever car I have. Once I'm completely modded out, it'll be time to get a new project, weather it's another car or not is different question but it probably will be. Maybe I'll restore a car next??? I don't know???

If I was into straight line stuff I'd definately go with something else, but I'm not I like having to turn the car while racing.

I've always loved sports cars, so the Celica's the closest I've gotten to a true sports car. Sooner or latter I'll be pimpin in a 911.
I've always like tinker with stuff, so cars are just an extension of tinkering/modding. If I can make it better, then I will :D
Plus it's always fun to be different!

I get tons of looks from girls because of the car, as do most of you I'm sure...but I would never want to date a girl that was all into my car (more then she is into me) lol

of course you don't date them, you just get them to polish the old knob and then send them on their way.

it's called the catch and release program

I've never modded a car, but when I bought the celica I hated the antenna. Then it just started from there, I started reading more and more. Then I realize how many purdy stuff the j-spec celica have that we dont have here. So i bought all the JDM stuff, then I figured I might as well get the TRD while I'm at it.

But persoally I don't really like modding, so much hassle, and time wasted. But like you pete I also like looking at pretty things, and the celica is sooo beautiful and I wanna enhance the look more. But some ppl I think are going to the extreme practically changing the look of the car. That I think is too much, then might as well not buy a celica IMO.

Wellll my penis joke went over faverably!! :D

To me modding is realy a very underated art form/hobbie. Kinda like modle airplanes writ-large.

I've seen some very beautiful things come together, as people mold there cars into being avitars of themselves..

I've seen displays of fantastic wealth, power, and cleverness.

As to myself? I don't know why I want to mod.. I think a good part of it is because of my SO.. She's a car freak, and she rather misses the thrill of watching those Street Rods and such come together. Honestly though. I am one of the FEW people it seems that are truely happy with the looks of my car (except for that anteni. Toyota WHAT were you thinking!!!?). I wouldn't mind a tint job (and better paint), but I am generaly very happy with how it looks. Hell I even LIKE my stock rims!!

Now the POWER quotient on the other hand..
((Brandon you bastard!! Now I want a GTS!!!!)) :D

I'm thinking I've got one of the nicer 4th gens out there. I've been to all the sites, and they are either completely stock,or just totally overdone.

But then,it's my car and I like it,so I think I'm biased a little bit. Of all the 4th gens I;ve seen on the road, mine's def. the best.

Most of the 4th gen's I've seen driving around these days are rotted and wasted..

You are driving a Classic man.. In the best sence of the word.
