i took the 7 years/120,000km package...basically it is an extended bumper to bumper warranty that includes full roadside assistance aswell. I think it is a must, especially considering I payed $1100 for it and I know that it will be worth a hell of a lot more when I go to sell the car. So yes it is definitly worth it....and by the way if anyone is thinking of getting it remember that the cost of it is negociable. They try to make it seem like the costs are standard for everyone but they arent. Hope this helps Pete :)

I suppose there are a few ways to look at it. And I think it all depends on how much you drive your car.

For me, $1,100 is a lot of repairs. and consitering I've had my car for 1 year, and I've got 50k on it. The basic warrenty is going to expire soon. I'm not worried. I feel that if there were any manufacture defects they would have shown by now.

The powertrain goes to 100,000km, and really it's only the power train components which cost the big bucks to repair. The flip side of that, is that the power train components also seem to be the most relaible...

But to me, and the kms I drive. That's not a 7 year warrenty, it's about a 4 year warrenty. And I can't possible concieve what would break that wouldn't be powertrain. Maybe you're stereo would fail? Some electrical components such as lights and dash? A shock or strut may fail, but everything else is powertrain it's it?

So really, you're just buying an additional 20,000 kms for 1,100 bucks.

But like I said, I think it has a lot to do with how MUCH you drive. If you do keep the car under 20k a year, 1,100 isn't that much money for 7 years of piece of mind.

bumper 2 bumper at 60k or 3 years, and powertrain 100k or... 4(maybe 5) years.

I bought it too..

Extended warrenty is a game. It plays on how 'Risk Adverse' you happen to be. The way I've seen it in the past, if you have to use it ONCE then it's paid for itself (ie your Transmission spontaniosly combusts).

Plus it does help the on resale value of the car (especialy if you put a CRAZY amount of KM on it in a single year)
