Totally, and a Dodge SRT4 is still a Neon. Same paradigm, strong engine in an economy car. I don't really like the trend, but I guess it gets you a quick car for a cheap price.

I'm sure these Colbats are going to be total crap for the first few years they exist. Much like the Ford Focus was.

    I'd wait a little!
exactly, they have no interest in building a car that will last for years. all they want to do is build a car that will go FAST FOR CHEAP and last a few yrs.

that way they just keep building and selling them

yeah well if you go buy an all original old car... chances are it'll have a V8 .. not a small I4 that was pushed to its max all its life

    BS..

From what I've heard/read the Toyota 22R Truck engines are good for 500 000km. My mother's currently has nearly 300 000km on one. My old Corolla had over 200 000km on it and it ran like it was new. My parents ROLLED the ODO in the old Subaru GL.

You can make a 4Cyl ever bit as good as a 6 or 8. It's all in the design, and intent..

My co-worker on the other hand has a Windstar.. I beleve it's on engine 3..

Difference is the way the engine is designed. our 1.8L is pushing 180hp.

a 5.7L engine usually pushes max 330hp from the factory. No where near the displacement to power ratio.

the 22R is 2.3L pushing 96hp push it up to ~230hp and see what happens.
